04/26/2021 Hamed Khorasani won the CSEE department Graduate Research Award

PhD student Hamed Khorasani won the department 2021 Outstanding Graduate Research Award!

During the last year, Hamed has presented his dissertation-related research at two conferences, American Geophysical Union (AGU) Annual Fall meeting 2020 and American Water Resources Association Virtual Annual Conference in 2020. His research on the modeling of carcinogens disinfection by-products in a river and the analysis of sources of the precursors won the Student Poster Runner-Up award. Hamed presented the results of his research which is a collaboration between the University at Buffalo and Arizona State University at the CSEE departmental poster competition that won the Second Prize among all the presenting Ph.D. Students.

Hamed also independently collaborated with researchers from McMaster University and the University of Tehran that have resulted in a publication in the Journal of Sustainable Cities and Society. He also published one conference paper in ASCE-World Environmental and Water Resources Congress 2020, which was a collaboration with researchers from the University of Tehran and Sharif University of Technology.
