5/19/2017 Congratulate Vasikan Vijayashanthar on his graduation

Vasikan Vijayashanthar successfully presented his MS research project on May 15 and graduated with a MS degree on May 19. Congratulate Vasikan!

His project, Modeling of Fecal Indicator Bacteria in Urban Waterways using Artificial Neural Networks, considered characteristics of urban waterways and key factors, that influence fecal bacteria concentration, as model input parameters. This study shows that a well-trained and "intelligent" model can be used to instantly and cost-effectively predict unsafe and safe conditions of fecal coliform in Chicago River.

Vasikan was also the student speaker at UB School of Engineering and Applied Sciences commencement ceremony for graduate students. Nice job!
