ABOUT ME
I obtained BS degree in Hydraulic Engineering from Tsinghua University (Beijing, China) in 2009. Then I went to the Ven Te Chow Hydrosystems Laboratory at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and completed MS and PhD degrees under the supervision of Prof. Marcelo H. Garcia. Before joining the Tsinghua University as an associate professor with tenure, I was an assistant professor (promotion as associate professor with tenure effective August 2023) at the University at Buffalo.

RESEARCH INTERESTS
EDUCATION
Urban Water & Environmental Flows
I am interested in understanding the dynamics of flow and transport processes in surface water systems, and how human activities in cities affect these dynamics relating to environmental and ecological problems. My research interests span city, watershed, and Earth system scales using both physics-based and machine-learning hydrologic and water quality modeling.
